DESCRIPTION

A team of motivated and committed people will support you in your various mandates. Your leadership will inspire a spirit of partnership with local businesses, organizations and municipalities located in the Prescott-Russell region.
 
As part of your mandate, you will have to demonstrate leadership, initiative, and creativity in seizing business opportunities and implementing projects to ensure optimal REGIONAL economic development of the Prescott-Russell region.  Your role will be as much to attract, advise and support businesses, organizations, and municipalities in the development of their projects as to ensure growth in all sectors related to the sustainable economic development of the region.
 
With the collaboration and supervision of the Executive Director of the PRDC, and in accordance with the board of directors' and partners' orientations, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the economic development and tourism programs and activities for the Prescott-Russell region. To this end, main responsibilities consist of the following:
  • Create and maintain business relationships with agencies, ministries, organizations and institutions as well as local and regional partners while ensuring a close link with all of its 8 municipalities and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR).
  • Ensure the implementation of the new 2024-2029 regional strategic plan for the UCPR and report regularly to the partners and board of directors of the PRDC.
  • Supervise research and studies to assess the region's economic development and tourism potential and opportunities, as well as market trends.
  • Develop and implement support programs (financial and technical) and be on the lookout for any program or subsidy that could enable the development and implementation of economic and tourism projects.
  • Represent the PRDC by ensuring a presence on different committees or organizations and by attending different economic development and tourism events.
  • Work in consultation with various business and community partners in the Prescott and Russell region.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual budget forecasts for your department and ensure optimal management of the various budgets within the department.
  • Develop and ensure the deployment of development projects that meet the needs of the communities.
  • Prepare and present reports to the PRDC Board of Directors on a monthly and quarterly basis to the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Hold a university or post-secondary degree in a field appropriate to the position, including economics, management, project management, business administration, economic development or any other field deemed relevant.  For staffing purposes, any combination of university or post-secondary education and professional experience in economic development or other relevant experience will be considered.
  • Have a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in management or executive activities with significant achievements. The experience must have been acquired in work environments of similar scope.
  • Extensive knowledge of the French and English languages, both orally and in writing.
  • Possess a very good command of the main computer tools and software (Windows, Microsoft Office suite).
  • Have a good knowledge of federal, provincial and municipal programs and grants.
  • Have a good knowledge of the territory of Prescott and Russell.
  • Possess extensive expertise in recognized economic development and tourism approaches, methods and techniques as well as a very good knowledge of the economic issues and challenges facing the Prescott-Russell region.
  • Have a good reputation and credibility in the field of economic and tourism development and have previously held key positions in those fields.

SALARY

This is a full-time contractual position (18 months), 35 hours per week with the possibility of a long-term extension. Remuneration will be established according to the experience.
